Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (TSNUK)
Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv is a multi-disciplinary classical institution of higher education, a national heritage of education, science and culture, which has gained nationwide and international recognition as a leading educational, scientific and expert center as a result of its activities.
Founded in 1834, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (TSNUK) is the largest national higher education institution in Ukraine. It is recognised as one of its most prestigious. TSNUK holds leading positions in international rankings of higher education institutions in Ukraine and is among the TOP 50 universities in Eastern Europe.
The mission of the university, as a classical University of higher education of a research-oriented type, can be realized exclusively through the provision of high-quality education and research, their seamless integration, and combination with innovative activities. The University has a long history of achievement and excellence, and is the University of choice for the many gifted students who, in turn, receive the opportunity to become leaders in their fields, professions and in public life. Currently, there are 28 units of Shevchenko University. More than 25 000 students, about 2 000 foreign students, and about 2 000 professors are engaged in more than 500 trainings and scientific programmes.Among the graduates of Shevchenko University are well-known scientists and statesmen, including two presidents of Ukraine.
In the University’s structure, there is a research infrastructure that includes three Centers for the Collective Use of Scientific Equipment of the University: “Modern Technologies for the Earth and Solar System Materials Study”, “Laboratory of high energy physics and astrophysics”; “Modern Research Technologies in Biology and Medicine”; Interdisciplinary Center for Socio-Economic Well-Being and Mental Health.
Main tasks and responsibilities within the project:
- The main task in the Research & Innovation Excellence area of the APPROACH activities is the transfer of scientific knowledge and expertise of TSNUK team in development of luminescent light converting materials that can be applied on working surfaces to decrease spectral mismatch between incident light and PV films’ sensitivity.
- The main task in the in Human Capital Excellence and Talent Skills Development areas of the APPROACH activities is the consideration of gender dimension in research and innovation, TSNUK team will contribute to Guidance for women in their research career with Workshops focused on gender issues in research and innovation, the challenges facing women and how gender inequality can impact efficacy and research quality.
